The Philippine Consulate General is pleased to announce that, with the implementation of Republic Act No. 9679 or the Home Development Mutual Fund Law (PAG-IBIG FUND) of 2009, mandatory Fund coverage now includes seafarers and other Filipinos working for foreign-based employers. With this, our heralded heroes – the overseas Filipino workers now have the opportunity to prepare for the future through the Fund’s savings system, and to acquire their own homes through its liberal and affordable home financing program which now increased the maximum loanable amount to PhP 6.0 Million and reduced the interest rates. Filipino immigrants and permanent residents may also become members on a voluntary basis and enjoy the benefits available only to PAG-IBIG members.
PAG-IBIG is now embarking on an aggressive campaign to deliver its services to countries where PAG-IBIG Fund has no presence yet through the enhancement of the Fund’s e-services in the areas of membership registration, payment and verification of member’s savings.
